About The Original Guitar - 1959 Les Paul Standard
With sales of their Les Paul model in decline, in 1958 Gibson took action with the introduction of their Cherry Sunburst finish with a visible maple top. Although popular, the wood was relatively plain, so in 1959, Gibson used highly figured maple to present a more attractive guitar. Gibson also made a change to wider, fatter jumbo frets which made it a more facile guitar. The real force of this change was not felt until the late 1960s, when rock and blues players like Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield and Peter Green began to discover the fat, warm voice of the ’59 Standard. This moment in history marked the beginning of the idealization of the ’59 Les Paul as the Holy Grail of guitars in the minds of professionals, collectors and weekend warriors.

When talking about lacquer used in the guitars making, there are too many kinds, but the most special is Nitro-lacquer. Nitro-lacquer has more adavtages than other lacquer, like quick-drying, tough film, abrasion, high chemicas and water resistance. Regardless of past, present or future, only high-quality, expensive guitars use this kind of lacquer.
Therefore, we pay great attention to painting when making the 1959 Les Paul Standard Guitars. Just as the original guitar, the Nitro-lacquer finish is applied, sanded, and buffed by hand; namely, more care is put into the finishing process. This extra care is intended to make the guitars look like gently aged and well-cared-for vintage guitars. It also helps the guitars 'breathe' better and therefore to resonate and sustain more freely, making them much better instruments.
It is worth mentioning that the pickups we select are Wilkinson pickups, Which is more attractive in quality and price. Wilkinson pickups are what we strongly advise. They will save you much money! With top quality, Wilkinson pickups are stable and reliable enough!

Other Famous Les Paul Guitars
Les Paul Goldtop
1952 Les Paul Goldtop featured two P-90 single coil pickups, and a one-piece, 'trapeze'-style bridge and tailpiece, with strings that were fitted under (instead of over) a steel stop-bar.[note 3] The weight and the tonal characteristics of the Les Paul were largely due to the mahogany and maple construction: maple is a hard and quite heavy wood, but was restricted to a cap over somewhat lighter mahogany, to keep weight under control.
In addition, the early 1952 Les Pauls were never issued serial numbers, did not have bound bodies, and are considered by some as "LP Model prototypes". However, the later 1952 Les Pauls were issued serial numbers and also came with bound bodies. Interestingly, the design scheme of some of these early models varied. For instance, some of the Les Pauls of this issue were fitted with black covered P90 pickups instead of the cream-colored plastic covers that are associated with this guitar, even today. Of note, these early models, nicknamed "Goldtops", have begun to gain the interest of collectors, and subsequently, the associated nostalgic value of this instrument is increasing.

Gibson Les Paul Custom
Another Les Paul guitar was introduced to the public in 1954. Called the Gibson Les Paul Custom, this entirely black guitar was dubbed the Black Beauty. The Les Paul Custom featured a mahogany top to differentiate the instrument from its Goldtop predecessor's maple top. It also featured the new Tune-o-Matic bridge design and a pickup with an alnico-5 magnet, P-480, in the neck position. As time goes by, some changes happen.
The Les Paul Custom single cutaway was discontinued in 1961 and replaced with the SG (as we know it) designation for "solid guitar". This model featured a thin 1-5/16" body and a double cutaway. Confusion abounds to this day over the name Les Paul Custom. Since the single cutaway was discontinued, Gibson transferred the name Les Paul Custom to the new models.
