"Fabulous instruments, both in sound and aesthetic. It's hard to put them down." - Andy Summers
There are quite a few customers asked about the headless Klein Guitars during last year, finally we launched this Andy Summers Klein Guitar. It is great copy from the Andy Summers Klein Guitar. He has used 2 Klein guitars I think. This is the one with some white pattern on. Of course, if you like the patterns, we are able to paint the patterns for you. Also the Klein's signature.
Andy Summers used Klein guitars exclusivley from 1990 - 1996.
'David Torn and I are both using a Steve Klein custom electric guitar. I used it on the [Charming Snakes] record, and I use it onstage quite exclusivley. It's a fabulous instument. Klein took a Steinberger setup with a TransTrem and reworked the body shape, so whether you're standing or sitting, it's extremely well balanced and comfortable - more so than most guitars. My neck is Guatemalan rosewood, which is dense and strong and can actually handle something as radical as a TransTrem. I like the feel of the wood, and the guitar has a very warm sound.' - Andy Summers
These two Klein guitars are used by Andy Summers during 1991-1997

Something about Andy Summers
Andy Summers : His birth name is Andrew James Summers. For two years Summers spelled his name Somers, but subsequently reverted to using his real family name Summers. Andrew James "Andy" Summers (born 31 December 1942) is an English multi-instrumentalist, born in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. Best known as the guitarist for rock band The Police, he has also recorded twelve solo albums, collaborated with many other artists, toured extensively under his own name, published several books, and composed several film scores. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Summers as the eighty fifth greatest guitarist of all time.
Andy Summers plays a Steve Klein Guitar in his album [Synaesthesia] .

From 1997: 'I got the Steve Klein guitar I used on the album [Synaesthesia] about four or five years ago when he was just starting to make them. Originally Klein had been making them bigger and then David Torn suggested that maybe, for blokes like him and me who are not the tallest people in the world, he could make a smaller version, which he did. Steve brought six over and I picked one out - it had a wooden neck rather than a graphite neck and a Trans-Trem.'
After recording 'Synaesthesia', Andy's feelings toward the Klein become apparent in this 1997 interview :'...on tour I'm actually going to play a 335 because I need to get a little more wood and air into the show. If you're standing there for an hour and a half, if it's just harsh, electronic and solid-body-sounding I think it turns people off. You can warm it up a little with a 335 and it covers the wild-sounding stuff that we're doing but I can also use it for ballads. It still sounds beautiful.'
As we all know, Andy's main guitar now is that Gibson ES-335. When asked by Virtual Guitar Magazine in 1998 if he still used the Klein:
'No, it doesn't really work for the jazz thing. I used it for about 5 years exclusively and I never picked up another guitar. You know, it's a small, solid-body guitar. I used to use a lot more effects and stuff and I've sort of gotten away from that now. It's still a great, great guitar. It's one of the best guitars I've got.'
There are many other great guitarlists have play this Andy Summers Klein Guitar, including Bill Frisell, Andy Summers of The Police, Henry Kaiser, Ken Wessel (former guitarist with Ornette Coleman), and Lou Reed, here are some photos of diffrent Klein guitar models or similar body style, all avaliable for your order !
