About the original Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass
John Francis Anthony Pastorius III , known to people as Jaco Pastorius, an influential American jazzmusician, composer, big band leader and electric bass player, was born on December 1, 1951, in Norristown, Pennsylvania with Finnish, Sami, German, Swedish and Irish ancestry . Best known for his work with Weather Report from 1976 to 1981,  Jaco Pastorius was famous for his highly technical playing, Latin-influenced 16th-note funk, lyrical soloing on fretless bass and innovative use of harmonics. Jaco Pastorius was inducted into the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame in 1988 and became one the only electric bass guitarist of  seven bassists so honored .

Jaco Pastorius has been called "arguably the most important and ground-breaking electric bassist in history" and "perhaps the most influential electric bassist today". Jaco Pastorius is most frequently associated with the 1962 Fender Jazz Bass ,which is fretless with a nickname Bass of Doom . The Jaco Pastroius Jazz Bass is his most notable instrument, with which he performed in different stages and recorded some of his albums, for instance, playing in Convocation Hall in Toronto Canada on November 27, 1977.

Our replicated Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass

In order to meet needs of these who want a new Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass with more reasonable price, we recreate the bass master’s famously distressed sunburst-finish fretless Jazz Bass with a stuff of skilled luthiers. Our bass is a precise recreation of the original Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass. With plenty of time researching and comparing, we choose the select woods and replicate the bass whereby the original construction the form and measurements.

We choose select alder body, specially shaped maple neck as well as rosewood fingerboard ,which is totally complies with the original Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass.

Our replicated Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass has the same fretless fingerboard ,which is favored by Jaco Pastorius. Together with side dots centered on the fret lines and rosewood’s rounding highs, making the bass more attractive than other ones.

Following the design of original Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass,we choose bolt-on construction, which provides some extra flexibility for the adjustment to such an instrument.

Other feathers include vintage-style single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, vintage-style reverse tuners, knurled chrome Precision Bass® knobs and commemorative Pastorius neck plate. Combined with its three color sun-burnt finish, giving the bass a great vintage feel.

The finish we use is absolutely nitrocellulose lacquer, which is same as the original Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass. With our paint sprayer’s exquisite craftsmanship and hard work, we finally reproduce the Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass’s vintage-style.
